KWP Limping Leos
The Killara West Pymble (KWP) Limping Leo’s Golden Oldies was born in 2009 by a bunch of KWP Junior Rugby Union parents.
After an internal end of season fun day at the end of the 2008 season (and several rehydrating ales) the ”old enough to know better” bunch of dads committed to raising a team for the following season.
The initial season went well with large numbers of the dads and some of their mates sneaking their old boots out of their houses (many out of sight of wives and girlfriends) to dream of former glory. At the end of the 2009 season KWP placed a team in the 2009 World Masters (played in Sydney), where we enjoyed a week of gentleman’s rugby and made some new friends from Chile (as they made some friends of our wives).
The club has grown to around 40 players and some Marquee players who only want to play a couple of times each season, but be a part of something special.
KWP have hosted the Battle of The North Shore for the past 6 years involving teams from Lindfield, Gordon, Wahroonga, Chatswood & Eastwood.
